Those extra ten minutes are the point. Levi village sits under its own lights; the retreat sits in 78 hectares of forest with none, which is what the cabins were built for. If you are deciding where to stay before you book flights, start there.

Fly to Kittilä (KTT) — about 15 minutes from Levi village and 25 minutes from the retreat. We open 1 December and close 31 March, and across those months Kittilä is one of the best-connected airports in Finnish Lapland. Direct routes come in around late November and ease off through March.

The drive takes around 25 minutes, through quiet pine forest along a simple two-lane road. In winter much of it is in darkness. That is part of arriving here.

There is no formal check-in on the way. When you arrive the fire is already lit, there is something warm to drink, and time to settle in.
